How Are The Works To Salisbury River Park Funded?

The total investment required for the scheme is estimated at £35 million. This covers all of the costs including the scheme design, construction and future maintenance. The main funding for the project will come from Flood Defence Grant in Aid, which is central government funding administered by the Environment Agency. This will be cover approximately £23.5 million of the overall costs.

The other contributions have come from central government’s Local Growth Fund Allocation (administered by Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership), National Highways, Department for Education, Local Levy (administered by the Wessex Regional Flood and Coastal Committee), Community Infrastructure Levy (administered by Wiltshire Council), Active Travel Fund, Local Authority Treescape Funding and Wessex Water .
